The all-new 3D Print Vehicle Zone at the Oct. 21-22 Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo in Santa Clara, Calif., will host manufacturers showcasing their 3D-printed vehicular creations. Among those companies showcasing their production prowess will be Carlsbad, Calif.-based Forecast 3D. The company, which specializes in 3D printing and short-run manufacturing services with more than 20 years of product development experience in North America, will be exhibiting its championship-winning Harbinger race car. Created for Agent 47 Competition Products, a race car manufacturer, the Harbinger has a quite literal proven track record, following two seasons on the race track.

The Harbinger race car was created with more than 45 functional components made possible via 3D printing. Based on a classic 1969 Mustang TransAm, the custom-built Harbinger saw use for most of the additive technologies Forecast 3D has to offer — from FDM to SLA and DMLS production techniques to functional parts off the printer to 3D-printed molds made for final parts.
